

Dear Ms de Boer,
I fell compelled to write you a letter to advise you of how absolutely delighted I have been with the service and treatment at your hotel.
First, let me qualify myself - I have had "elite" status in 2 or more airlines every year for the past 15 years, and spend no less than 100 nights/ year in hotels around the world, sometimes as many as 150 and travel to all major continents and areas. So, I know hotels that have more "stars" than the Carlton Ambassador, and, ones that have less.
In being satisfied with a hotel, there are all the obvious things one considers; cleanliness, location, facilities etc.- but, one item that is genuinely impossible to tell from the outside is the attitude and professionalism of the staff. I most certainly haven't met all your staff, or probably a large share of them - but, most if not all of the customer facing ones I know I have met.
The front desk staff in their entirety, and, virtually everyone in the restaurant and front desk management have been friendly, professional and truly OUTSTANDING in their field of business.
There is always a personal greeting, always a smile on their face and always willingness and, the associated empowerment to help get any matters or issues resolved.
I don't know if you have simply been "lucky" and selected the right staff, I don't know if it is the reward scheme, or the training, or the teamwork or some combination of all of the above. BUT, whatever it is works and works extremely well. When I arrive I feel a warm and friendly welcome, and when I leave I very often miss seeing them every morning and evening in the hotel.
As I said, I travel a lot, and the greatest compliment I can give your hotel deserves by far and above more than any other I have ever dealt with -- it feels as friendly and comfortable HOME. And, when it is all said and done, that is the best compliment I can give any hotel - no matter how many stars it has.
Congratulations on an excellent team, and I hope you pass these compliments on to all of them, with the understanding that whatever the ‘root cause' of this wonderful result is gets analyzed and you ensure that it remains the hallmark of the wonderful team that you have managed to assemble and motivate.

I would like to recognize one of your staff for her thoughtful and attentive assistance. On each occasion of my frequent visits to The Hague and the Carlton Ambassador, I am constantly welcomed tot the hotel by Sandra. Sandra goes out of her way to recognize me, call me by my name and remember small details that have made a previous stay more comfortable. Most recently, when I returned for yet another 3-week stay, Sandra remembered the room that I like, made sure my bag was in my room and handed me the wireless adaptor that I always need - and I never asked. Such detailed and thoughtful attention keeps me coming to your hotel. Kind regards,
